Valuation

Inspection carried out for the benefit of the mortgage lender to establish the value and suitability of a property for mortgage purposes.

Even thought the borrower can be given a copy of the valuation it is not for their benefit and as such does not afford them any protection.

Purchasers are always recommended to obtain either a Homebuyers report carried out by a Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Chartered Surveyor or Flat Buyer's report or even a full structural survey before proceeding with any purchase.
